Design registration in Ranchi

Design registration in Ranchi provides the creator exclusive rights to use the design for the next years, this validity can be further extended for five years.

Here is the procedure for obtaining design registration in Ranchi:

The application for design registration in Ranchi should be filed in Form 1 along with these details:

Name of the applicant
Address of the applicant
Nationality of the applicant
In case the applicant is not a natural person i.e, a company then the information regarding the legal status of the company must be included.
The name of the article to which the design is applied should be included.
Registration of design, if the design is two-dimensional two copies must be submitted. The applicant must highlight the unique feature of the design.
If the application is mentioning registration of the design in more than one class then each class of the registration must be made in a separate application.
A disclaimer or the statement of novelty is also to be attached to represent the concerned mechanical processes, trademark number, letters.
The applicant or the authorized person is required to endorse and sign each representation duly
After the submission of the application, the patent office will examine the application and objections that are raised if there are any.
Once the objections are removed, the design is granted a copyright certificate by the patent office.

The design registration in Maharashtra is however valid for 10 years from the date of registration.
