Arunachal Pradesh Factory Registration

Factories Act, 1948

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Arunachal Pradesh Factory license is vital for factory engaged in the manufacturing process without the aid of power where twenty or more workers are employed or were working on any day of the preceding year.
  • The factory's employing less than ten workers for the following manufacturing process as declared in section 85 of the Factories Act, 1948.

When to Apply?

If the application for approval of factory plan and permission to construct or extend existing building as a factory has been successfully accepted and before the commencement of manufacturing operation, you can register the factory in Arunachal Pradesh and apply for a factory license.

Licensing Authority

Department of Industries, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, facilitates the process of Arunachal Pradesh Factory Registration. Factories can be run only with a license issued by the Chief Inspector of Factories & Boilers (CIF), Arunachal Pradesh, under the Factories Act, 1948.

Validity of License

The Arunachal Pradesh Factory license issued will be valid for five years. The factory licensee needs to renew every five years. The due date of renewal of factory license is 31st December of the year before the year for which license is required.

Arunachal Pradesh Factory Registration Application Procedure

The application procedure to complete Arunachal Pradesh Factory Registration and get a license is explained in step-by-step procedure here. An occupier of a factory needs to get a License under the provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh Factories Rules, 1950. Step 1: Once the factory plan is approved, the occupier or factory owner can make an Application to the Office of the Directorate of Factories, to get the Arunachal Pradesh factory license. Step 2: The Application for factory registration is required to be submitted in the prescribed format, accompanied by the documents mentioned above: Note: The Applicant can also apply online at the Arunachal Pradesh Single Window Clearance System (SWCS), Ease of Doing Business.

Step 3: The application for the factory will be verified by the Deputy Director of Factories of the concerned districts in which the factory is to be constructed. After verification, the Chief Inspector of Factories will forward his/her recommendation to the Director of Factories.

Step 4: In case, the application and the plans agree with the statutory requirements of the Factories Act, 1948 and Arunachal Pradesh Factories Rules, 1950, the Director of factories will approve the factory plan after verifying the recommendations of the concerned Deputy Director of Factories

Step 5: If the factory conforms to the statutory limits, the Director of Factories will grant the Arunachal Pradesh factory license.
