Assam Ration Card
A ration card is an official document issued by various State Governments. Ration card enables a person and his/her family to purchase essentials such as rice, kerosene, wheat, grains, and sugar at a subsidized rate from the Public Distribution System (PDS). The State Government of Assam has issued three types of ration cards before the implementation of the Food Security Act of 2013. Their names are listed below:- APL(Above Poverty Cards) Cards
- BPL(Below Poverty Line) Cards
- AAY(Antyodaya Anna Yojana)
- AAY Card
- Priority Household Card
AAY Card (Antyodaya Anna Yojana)
This card is provided to the families, whose income does not exceed Rs. 1 lakh per annum. Through this card, the family can get thirty-five kilogram of rice per month. Besides, the rice will be provided at the price range of Rs.2 per kilogram.Priority Household Card
This card is provided to the families, whose income is less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum. Each family member will get 5 kilograms of rice per month. The rice will be distributed at the price range of Rs. 2 per kilogram after providing a subsidy of Rs.1.Required Information
The following details need to be furnished in the application form:- Name of the head of the family
- Fathers/Husbands name
- Occupation
- BPL family SI. No.
- Residential status
- Present residential address
- Annual income
Required Documents
To obtain the ration card, submit the following documents along with the application.- Details of family members
- Birth certificates (For children below ten years of age)
- Voter identity
- Address proof
Application Procedure
The applicant can apply for a ration card through the procedure specified below: Step 1: Please visit the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS & CA) office in the concerned district or sub-division. Step 2: Obtain the application form from the office and fill the same legibly. Check the application form with the provided details before submission.
