Caste Certificate in Madhya Pradesh
Caste certificate is a documentary proof which certifies that an individual belongs to a particular caste. In Madhya Pradesh, caste certificate is required to apply for Government jobs, claim admissions in state or central universities, or to qualify for scholarships. The Government of Madhya Pradesh has released the online application process for issuing a caste certificate. In this article, we look at the procedure for obtaining caste certificate in Madhya Pradesh. through online and offline modes.Eligibility
The following eligibility criteria must be met by the applicant:- Applicant should be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
- He/she must belong to a backward community like Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Categories (OBC).
- The person belonging to the general categories are not required to apply for caste certificate, as there is no reservation for such categories.

- Aadhar Card, Voter Id, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card
- Transfer Certificate
- A report regarding caste Patwari / Sarpanch
- Caste certificate before marriage, in case of Women,
- Income certificate
- Residence Proof
- Caste / religion report
Steps to Apply Online
The user can visit the official website of MP e-District Portal using this link to apply for the Caste Certificate online. [caption id="attachment_52276" align="aligncenter" width="1067"] Step 2 Step 3: Now, fill the application form online with all mandatory details like personal details, residential address or other required information. Step 4: Next, upload your passport-size ccolouredphotograph in the form and then fill the necessary declarations. Step 5: After filling the form successfully, take a printout of a duly filled-in application by clicking the “Print Form” button. Step 6: Now attach all the required documents along with the application form and submit it to the concerned authority office to obtain caste certificate.Offline Procedure
The applicant has to visit the nearest Jan Seva Kendra and obtain the prescribed application form for caste certificate, after which he/she will be required to fill all the necessary details in the application form. The application should be supported with the required documents. After performing the necessary verification, the applicant will be notified that the Caste Certificate will be issued shortly.Fee Charges and Processing Time
The applicant needs to pay Rs 5/- as stamp fee charges for applying caste certificate. The applicant can obtain the caste certificate within 10 to 15 days from the date of application. It may be required of the applicant to make a visit to the concerned office to collect the certificate.Concerned Authority
Application to obtain caste certificate is to be submitted to the Sub – District Magistrate or Tehsildar or Revenue Department Officer, along with the required documents. You may obtain a receipt after submitting the application for future reference.Check Application Status
