Eligibility Criteria

Note:- If the applicant’s age is less than 18 years, the domicile of the father is essential.

Concerned Department and Authority

The relevant department for the issuing of the domicile certificate in Chandigarh is the Land Revenue, and Disaster Management and the concerned authority is the Sub Divisional Magistrate.

Validity

The domicile certificate issued to the applicant is valid for lifetime.

Service Charge

Submit the Application Form Step 4: You have to submit the domicile application form in the prescribed format to the concerned official along with all the supporting certificates. Attach Required Documents Step 5: After applying, you have to attach the specified records along with the application form. Step 6: Upon submission, you will receive the transaction ID to your registered mobile number stating the details of the registration on successful registration. You have to make a note on transaction Id to check the status of the domicile application via online. Revenue Officer Verification Step 7: Sub-registrar officer will forward the domicile certificate request online to the concerned authority. Prescribed Time Frame Step 8: The domicile Certificate is issued to you within 30 working days. Issuance of the certificate Step 9: The concerned authority will process the domicile certificate request, and after the successful verification, the authorised Government Officer will issue the domicile certificate.

Procedure for Obtaining Domicile Certificate – Online Method

Once the certification as specified above procedures is completed, the domicile certificate can be downloaded through the e-District portal. The applicant can follow the given steps to apply for the domicile certificate. step 1 - Chandigarh Domicile Certificate New User Registration Step 2: In case you are a new applicant of Chandigarh e-District portal, you have to register in the portal to avail all the certificate services. step 2 - Chandigarh Domicile Certificate Step 3: Upon clicking the option, citizen’s registration page will be displayed, provide some details for the user registration such as Username, Name, Password, Gender, Date of Birth, District, Security Answer, State, Locality, Country, Security Question, Mobile number, EMail, and Aadhaar Card Number. Step 3 - Chandigarh Domicile Certificate Step 4: After providing all the details, you have to click on the save button, you will receive an OTP to your mobile number registered. Then you have to enter the same in the place given and Click on the Active account button. Login to Portal Step 5: Once the account has been activated; you need to login to the e-District portal using your user id and user password. Submit the Application Form Step 7: After providing all the mandatory details, you have to click on the submit. Domicile Certificate will be issued after the verification with the actual records of the concerned department. Get Acknowledgement Slip Step 8: Once the domicile application has successfully submitted, Acknowledgement receipt with an application number will be displayed. Take a print of this receipt. Keep it safe for future reference.

Track/ Check Status of Application

The domicile application status will be updated through SMS to the registered mobile number and e-mail address. You can also verify/ track your application status online via the e-District portal of Chandigarh. Provide the Application number and then click on the submit button.
