Eligibility Criteria
The below following are the eligibility criteria to obtain a domicile certificate from the Chandigarh Government:- Applicant should be a resident of Chandigarh for the past 3 years.
- Applicant should own a house/ property/ land in Chandigarh.
- Applicant’s name must be included in the voter list.
- Female applicants may apply for the certificate if they are married to a person from Chandigarh.

Procedure for Obtaining Domicile Certificate – Online Method
Once the certification as specified above procedures is completed, the domicile certificate can be downloaded through the e-District portal. The applicant can follow the given steps to apply for the domicile certificate. Access e-District Portal Step 1: The applicant must visit the homepage of the e-District portal for applying the domicile certificate. Then click on the option Citizen Login for the New User Registration. Then click on the register button. Track/ Check Status of Application
The domicile application status will be updated through SMS to the registered mobile number and e-mail address. You can also verify/ track your application status online via the e-District portal of Chandigarh. Provide the Application number and then click on the submit button. The status of your domicile application form will be displayed on the screen.
