Income certificate is used as a legal proof for availing various services and benefits of the schemes. The process of issuing an income certificate varies from state to state. - Agriculture Income Certificate helps get bank loans as agricultural income is exempted from tax under the Indian Income Tax Act.
Income Considerations
Income means the money earned by the family members regularly. Calculating the income of the family includes only the income of the members living together that also include unmarried brothers, unmarried sisters. Apart from the salary, the following incomes are also considered for calculation.- Income from business

Eligibility Criteria
To obtain the Chhattisgarh income certificate, the citizen should comply with the following criteria.- The citizen who needs the certificate should be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh while applying.
- Any resident of Chhattisgarh who has been employed and needs an income certificate to be submitted for any purpose is eligible to apply for the document.
Documents Required
The applicant should submit the following documents (whichever applicable) while requesting for the income certificate.- Application form
- Affidavit (Self Declaration) of the applicant
- Proof of identity of the applicant
- Employer Income Certificate / Form 16 (if employed in the organized sector)
- Certificate from Patwari / Sarpanch / Councilor (for Rural areas)
- Proof of income for other family income (income from land, houses)
- Passport size photograph
Fee Details
The applicant has to pay a fee of Rs. 30 to procure the certificate in Chhattisgarh.Period of Issuance
It is estimated that the certificate will be issued after 15 days from the date of application.Validity
The income certificate acquired from Chhattisgarh is valid for the one year from the date of issuance.Application Procedure
The applicant can get the income certificate by applying either in offline or online mode.Offline Process:
Step 1: The applicant can obtain the application form from the sub-divisional magistrate office, or they can also collect from the CHOICE centre. Step 2: Fill in the application form properly with the necessary details and affix the photograph. Step 3: Submit the form to the concerned authority in the Tehsil office/ sub-divisional magistrate office /C.S.C. centre/ CHOICE along with the prescribed documents. Step 4: Pay the fee of Rs.30 in the counter. After submitting, collect the application receipt to check the status of the application form. Step 5: On processing the application successfully, the certificate can be obtained from the concerned office where the application was submitted.Online Process:
Chhattisgarh e-District Portal Step 1: Visit the homepage of the e-District portal to apply for an income certificate. Step 2: Select ‘certificate services’ from the menu. On selecting, the link will direct to the new page. Select Citizen under the Login option. Click on the option ‘Click Here for New Registration’. [caption id="attachment_56850" align="aligncenter" width="1280"] Chhattisgarh-Income-Certificate-Login-Details Step 6: On clicking, the citizen registration page will appear, where the new user has to provide some details such as Username, Name, Password, District, Security Question, Security Answer, Mobile number, Email and Aadhar Card Number for user registration. Enter the same in the place given and Click on the Active account. Login to Portal Step 8: On activating the account, log in to the e-District portal using the registered user id and password. Step 9: Provide the details in all the fields that are mandatory to apply for income certificate, some of which are as follows.- Name of the applicant
- Personal details such as a residential address, age, qualification
- Employment details
- Income details
Track Application Status
The applicant will receive updates regarding the application status through SMS to the registered mobile number. Also, the applicant can track the application status online via the e-District portal. Enter the application number and click on search button to view the application status.
