GST E-Invoice QR Code Verifier App by GSTN
The GSTN has developed a highly efficient e-invoice verification application after recognizing the significance of streamlined and precise e-invoice verification. This GST e-invoice system enables users to authenticate e-invoices using the prominently displayed QR code. GSTN has developed this app to simplify the process and ensure user convenience. This article explores the GST E-Invoice QR Code Verifier app and its features in detail. What is QR code in e-invoicing?
A QR code is a two-dimensional Quick Response code designed to be read and interpreted by machines. It is a crucial element in the e-invoice ecosystem, as all e-invoices must feature a digitally signed QR code. By including this code, e-invoices ensure simplified and convenient access to valid GST invoices. To ensure the integrity and validity of e-invoices, including a QR code is essential in the e-invoicing system. When taxpayers upload tax invoices to the e-invoice portal or Integrated Reporting and Payment System (IRP), such as NIC or Clear IRP, for verification and authentication, the IRP performs various checks on the invoice details. Once verified, the IRP digitally signs the invoice. It returns it as an e-invoice, along with the Invoice Reference Number (IRN) and a signed QR code. Taxpayers must include and print the received QR code on the final e-invoice when sharing it with the buyer. Failing to include a valid and correct QR code on the e-invoice and the subsequently generated e-way bill renders both documents invalid and unusable. This non-compliance can attract severe penalties from tax authorities. Furthermore, the buyer may be unable to claim their entitled input tax credit if the QR code is missing or invalid. The addition of the QR code serves as a crucial element in the e-invoice verification process. By utilizing the QR code, buyers can easily verify the authenticity and validity of an e-invoice. The QR code contains encoded information that lets buyers validate the invoice details and ensure its genuineness. This verification process protects buyers from accepting fraudulent or tampered e-invoices, safeguarding their interests and preventing potential financial losses.Features of the app
In line with the growing need for seamless and accurate e-invoice verification, the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has introduced the E-Invoice Verifier App. This application addresses the complexities of the verification process, offering a user-friendly solution that simplifies verifying e-invoices and their related details. With a clear understanding of the significance of careful verification, GSTN has developed this app to streamline the process, enabling users to authenticate e-invoices and ensure their accuracy conveniently.-
