Gujarat Factory Registration
In Gujarat, the factory owners are required to register their premises with the local governing authority before starting operations. Factory registration in India is regulated by the provisions of the Factories Act, 1948. Factory license is a certificate issued by the Chief Inspector of Factories to carry out manufacturing pursuits in the state. As per the Factories Act, 1948, a factory needs to obtain a Building Plan Approval from the Labour and Employment Department before applying for a factory registration. Under the Factories Act, 1948, registration and renewal of factory licenses are also done to ensure the safety of workers. The Department maintains the record of each factory satisfying the conditions of the Factories Act, 1948 regarding their workers, power consumptions, chemical usages and accepts returns that fall under various acts from those companies on a periodical basis. Factories Act, 1948 is formulated with the aim of ensuring the working conditions in factories, to regulate health, safety welfare, and annual leave and to enact a particular provision with respect to persons who work in factories.Documents Required

- Original Licence
- Treasury Challan in original
- Stability Certificate duly signed by the Chartered Engineer/Chartered Architect.
- A resolution passed by Board of Directors.
- Treasury challan for deposit of registration fee for the factory.
- List of Directors and Partners
- Copy of partnership deed duly attested by Magistrate
- In case of proprietorship concern, details of the proprietor are required to be given through declaration which is attested either by Magistrate or by Notary.
- Copy of power sanction.
Documents Required for the Change of Occupier
An amount of Rs.100/- has to be deposited as an amendment fee if there is a change of occupier. The following certificates are required to be submitted if there is a change of occupier. In case of proprietorship concern- Declaration about the proprietor and the occupier.
- List of partners
- Copy of partnership deed
- A resolution passed by partners in which one of partner has been appointed as an occupier.
- List of Directors
- A resolution passed by Board of Directors in which one of director has been appointed as an occupier.
Documents Required for Change in the Factory Name
If there is a change in the name of the factory, then Rs.100/- is to be deposited as an amendment fee. The following certificates are required to be submitted if there is a change in the name of the factory.- Certificate from Registrar of Companies regarding change of name.
- Memorandum and Article of Association of the new company
- List of Directors (in case of a company).
- A resolution passed by Board of Director in which one of Director has been appointed as an occupier.
- Certificate from Registrar of the firm regarding the change of name.
- List of Partners (in case of the firm).
- Copy of partnership deed
- A resolution passed by partners in which one of partner has been appointed as an occupier.

Offline Application Procedure for Factory License
The applicant has to follow the below steps to make an online application for the non-creamy layer certificate: Step 1: Before applying for the license the plan of the factory to be approved by the Director / Joint Director Industrial Safety and Health and a Certificate of stability issued by the competent person in Form No. I-A has been submitted. Note: The application form for Factory License can also be downloaded from the official website of Investor Facilitation portal. The application form will be displayed as shown below: Step 2: The application form has to be submitted along with the prescribed documents. Step 3: Now, the prescribed fee has to be remitted to the officer along with the application. Step 4: On submission of the application, an acknowledgement slip will be provided to the applicant to check the application status online. Step 5: License can only be issued after receiving the application for the same with Form No. 2 (Triplicate) for the registration and Form No. 3 for the grant of license with relevant documents accompanied by a treasury Chalan for payment of fees and verifying it by visiting the premises of the factory.Application Procedure for Factory License – Online Method
In Gujarat, the applicants must follow the following steps to apply for the factory license by submitting the application form online. Visit the Investor Facilitation Portal Step 1: Firstly, the applicants have to go to the official Portal to apply for the Factory License online. Step 4: Then click on the "Submit" button for the account activation. Login Page Step 5: Once the account is activated, you can use the user ID & Password to login and click confirmation. Building Plan Approval Step 7: A Factory would need to obtain a Building Plan Approval from the L&E department before applying for factory registration. Step 8: After getting the approval for the building plan from the concerned department, you can apply for the new factory registration. New Factory registration Step 9: You have to click on the Factory registration (Form 3) which will be displayed on the screen. Processing of Application
The Department starts the processing of Application after receiving all the supporting documents along with Form 3. If some shortcomings are founds during the scrutiny of application, then an email is sent for the faults found, and shortcomings are also listed in an inbox of the message board.Factory license Amendment
The applicants can also apply for the amendments to the issued factory license. Upon clicking on the "factory license amendment application", you can apply for the amendments by filling the following details in the form.- Application Date

- MST Number
- FIN Number
- Factory Registration and License Number
- E-mail Address and Mobile Number

Renewal of Factory Licence
The applicants will have to follow the procedure given below to renew the factory registration online. Step 1: Firstly, login to the portal with your username and password. Step 2: Then, click on the Apply for renewal button. Step 3: On clicking on this renewal button, the renewal application page will be displayed on the screen. Renewal Application Receipt Step 4: You have to submit the application for renewal along with updated information of the factory and other relevant forms if there is a change in the factory information. Enter the payment details and submit online. Step 5: After submission, take a printout of Form 3 and send it along with the documents duly signed by the Occupier to the “Chief Inspector of Factories, within 15 days from the date of Submission.Popular Post
