Integrated Sericulture Development Project
Integrated Sericulture Development Project (ISDP) was introduced by Directorate of Sericulture, Government of Assam to revive and expand the production Muga and Eri in Assam. ISDP also focuses on developing and protecting sericulture in Assam through various projects.Overview
Government of India (GoI) has initiated several schemes in traditional service and manufacturing sectors such as bamboo, cane, silk, khadi, coir, sericulture, non-farming to revive and reform, improve domestic and international trade, provide better market access and improve the economic stability by generating employment opportunities. As a part of reviving sericulture in India, GoI introduced North East Region Textile Promotion Scheme to increase handloom, textile, horticulture and sericulture sector in the North Eastern states. The scheme provides financial assistance for seeds banks, machinery, raw materials. It also enhances the producer by providing skill development training on machinery, technology and global marketing. Under the NERTPS scheme, Government of Assam introduced two projects, they are:- Integrated Sericulture Development Project (ISDP) and
- Intensive Bivoltine Sericulture Development Project (IBSDP)
Objectives of ISDP
- To protect the species that contribute to sericulture during drastic temperature shift and create a sustainable sericulture development in Assam
- Increase production, quality and marketing process for Muga and Eri silks
- Revive and increase the production of sericulture in Assam
- Diversify the process of sericulture to improve the quality and quantity in silk and cocoon production in Assam
- Implement skill development programs to increase production, upgrade technology and promote marketing at global platforms
- Provide a platform to expand the food plants through the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)to improve policies and practices for production and distribution
- Increase economic stability through targeted groups for Sericulture in Assam
- Create employment opportunities for a sustainable livelihood among the rural areas in Assam

Duration of the Project
The duration of the project ranges from 1 to 3 years depending on the size and requirement of the project targets.Technical Consultants and Implementing Agencies (IA)
Technical Consultants and IAs are implemented to monitor the production and provide assistance for the sericulture manufacturers in Assam. They also provide support for preparing projects, implementation and guidance for skills development programs. The role of Technical Consultants and IAs are to prepare Detailed Project Report and seek approval from the Government of Assam.Release of Funds for ISDP
The funds for the ISDP shall be released by the Government of Assam in three instalments, they are: First Instalment: After the sanction of project from Government of Assam Second Instalment: Physical progress of the project Third Instalment: Physical progress of the project Targeted Project Areas as per ISDP guidelines

Eligibility Criteria for ISDP
- Must be a resident of Assam
- Farm-based enterprises
- Sericulture farmers
- Targeted and Self Help Groups (SHGs) for Sericulture
- NGOs
Documents Required for Availing ISDP
- Detailed Project Report as guided by the IA
- ID proofs such as PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Driving License, Proof of residence etc.
- Details and documents of the company
- Proof of Business
- Memorandum and articles of association of the Company/Partnership Deed of partners etc.
- Details of bank and IT returns
- Balance sheet approved by an authorised CA
Process of ISDP
