Madhya Pradesh Liquor License
A liquor license is a permit given by the excise department of the respective state to sell alcoholic beverages at a particular place. An individual is required to obtain a liquor license for the following reasons as explained below:- A liquor license is needed to avoid the unlawful sale of liquor in a particular state.
- A liquor license is necessary to regulate the sale of liquor to maintain health in the country.
- It is illegal for any individual to manufacture, dispense or sell intoxicating alcohol without a state license granted by the state supervisor of the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.
Types of Liquor License
The following are required to obtain a liquor license in Madhya Pradesh. Documents Required
The required documents are to be furnished along with the application form.- Application form addressed to the Excise & Taxation Officer (Excise)
- Proof of Age (should be more than 25 years of age)
- Proof of Residence (copy of Driving License, Ration Card, Voter Card, Passport etc.)
- Aadhaar Card.
- NOC from the fire department
- NOC from the municipal corporation
- Photograph of the applicant.
Application Procedure for Liquor License
To apply for Madhya Pradesh Liquor License, follow the steps specified below.Approach Excise Department
Step 1: The applicant has to approach the office of the designated officer of the excise department to collect the application form for a liquor license.Complete the Details
Step 2: Fill the application with required details and attach the prescribed documents.Submit the Application Form
Step 3: Submit the duly filled application form with all the documents to the Excise & Taxation Officer at the same office.Make the Payment
Step 4: Upon submission of application, the applicant needs to make payment by generating a challan.Message on Payment
Step 5: Once the challan is submitted and payment is made, the applicant will get an intimation on the registered mobile number and email ID about the successful payment.Issuance of Liquor License
Step 6: After verification/ inspection of the documents, the fire license will be issued to the applicant.Processing Time
The entire process of granting a liquor license will be completed within one day from the date of application.Liquor License Renewal
The Madhya Pradesh government has permitted the liquor license validity only for either three or five years, therefore it has to be renewed after the validity period. The existing hotels and restaurants for renewal are supposed to produce architectural drawings and photographs every year. Additionally, the documents prescribed for renewal should be submitted and the power of renewal of the liquor license will lie with the Excise Commissioner by remitting the following amount payable for renewal.Penalty
If an individual possesses any intoxicant or transports, manufacturers, without holding a Liquor license will be punishable with imprisonment for a term of more than six months or with fine extending to one thousand rupees, or with both.Popular Post
