Procedure to Change Address in FSSAI License
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), via an order dated September 30th, 2021, has enabled a new provision for change in premise address without changing the FSSAI License/Registration number. Food businesses can now retain the same license/registration number, even if there is a requirement for a change in premise address, by applying a modification of their existing license/registration. Currently, FBO faces problems retaining their existing FSSAI License or Registration number in case they change the premises of their food units. FBOs must surrender the current FSSAI license and apply for a new one. To facilitate the food businesses in retaining the existing FSSAI License, even if they change the location of the food unit, FSSAI has now enabled new provisions for changing the State/ Union Territory or District in the Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS) while applying for modification of FSSAI License/Registration.The official notification related to the Procedure to Change Address in FSSAI License is attached here for reference:

As mentioned above, Food businesses can now retain the same FSSAI license/registration number, even if there is a requirement for a change in premise address, by modifying their existing FSSAI license. Following the FSSAI Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS) registration procedure, any registered FBO can modify any given information in the Food License issued by the FSSAI.Applicable Fee

Documents Required for Modification of FSSAI License
The FBOs must upload the following documents to modify the Licence to Change Address in FSSAI License.- Supporting Document for modification on the letterhead
- Any document which is required by the licensing authority to ensure the safety of food
Application Procedure to Change Address in FSSAI License
To change the premise address of the food unit, FBOs need to submit an online application through Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS) and possess a valid receipt of the application having a seventeen-digit application reference number. Procedure to Change Address in FSSAI License - FoSCoS- The FBO must log into the FoSCoS portal; a dashboard will be displayed. Click on the Modification option; the FBO can modify the respective FSSAI License or Registration Certificate.
- When applying for modification of the FSSAI License along with the requisite fee for change in the jurisdiction, an automatic online application for transfer will be sent to the existing authority.
- The concerned authority will scrutinize the application within 15 days of receiving the application. The comments related to the application. In case of no comments on the transfer application by the existing authority, the application will be auto-approved by the system.
- Then the application will forward to the concerned licensing authority, who shall scrutinize the application and approve it according to the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011.
- Once the application is approved, the license's record/history will shift to the destined licensing authority.
