For a Hindu marriage, the following conditions must be satisfied by the bride and groom:- Marriages solemnised under Hindu customs
- Both of them should be Hindus
- Present a proof of marriage
- Bridegroom should have completed 21 years and bride should have completed 18 years
- Any one of the following places should fall within the jurisdiction of the Registering Officer:
- Residence of bridegroom
- Residence of bride
- Solemnisation place
Special Marriage Registration Certificate
For a special marriage to be registered, following conditions must be satisfied:- Bridegroom should have completed 21 years and bride should have completed 18 years
- Any one of the following places should fall within the jurisdiction of the Registering Officer:
- Residence of bridegroom
- Residence of bride
- Solemnisation place
Documents Required for Marriage Registration
The marriage registration requires any one of the following documents from each category.Four passport size photos of the groom and bride.
Proof of Marriage
- Wedding Invitation
- Temple Marriage Receipts
- Any other proof of marriage solemnisation
Residence
- Identity Card of both the Groom or Bride
- Ration Card of both the Groom or Bride
- Driving License of both the Groom or Bride
- Passport or Visa of both Groom or Bride
Age
- Birth Certificate of the Groom or Bride
- School or College Certificate of the Groom or Bride
- Passport or Visa of the Groom and Bride
