Uttarakhand Fire License
As per the provisions regulated under the Uttarakhand Fire and Emergency Service Act, 2016, it is mandatory to possess a Fire License or No-Objection Certificate to obtain a building plan approval from the Uttarakhand Housing and Urban Development Authority. Uttarakhand Fire and Emergency Services Department issues fire license to verify the conformity of requirements of fire safety measures of the premises. According to the Uttarakhand Fire and Emergency Services Act, any individual proposing to construct a building of more than 15 meters in height for commercial or business purposes must apply for a fire license to the Cheif Fire Officer. The application has to be duly authorised before submission along with the appropriate building plans to the concerned authority which is the Local Municipal Corporation under the state law.Reasons for Obtaining Fire License
An individual is required to obtain a fire license under the following conditions:- Fire license is a needed for anyone seeking trade license or occupancy certificate from the civic body in the state.
- Fire license is expected to carry out businesses and trading operations, as listed under in the Department of State disaster and fire services.
- Fire license is needed to verify that a building is resistant or unlikely to observe any fire-related accident.

Documents Required
The required documents are to be furnished along with the application form.- Structural map (Site Plan, Floor Plan, Elevation Plan, Section Plan, Key Plan, Terrace Plan, Area Statement) as per Uttarakhand Byelaws/ NBC.
- A letter duly signed by the competent departmental authority.
- List of fire safety equipment in building as per the NBC.
- Scanned challan.
- Copy of Hydraulic pressure test certificate for Extinguisher.
- Photocopy of previously issued NOC.

Step 1: Kindly visit the official website of Uttarakhand Fire Service department. Step 2: Click on "NOC" tab from the homepage of the portal. - Director name
- Name of Authorized coordinator.
- Industry type.
Upload the Documents
Step 6: After filling all the necessary details upload all the documents needed. Step 7: Click on "Submit" button for successful registration.Receive Acknowledgement Number
Step 8: Upon submission, the applicant will receive the application number as the acknowledgement. The status of the Fire NOC application can be tracked online by following the steps specified below: Step 1: The applicant has to revisit the same portal. Step 2: Click on "Check NOC status " which is under the "NOC" tab. Step 3: Enter your application ID and click on the "Submit" button to check the status of your application. The applicant need not remit an application fee to apply for No Objection Certificate in Uttarakhand.Processing Time
The entire process of obtaining a No Objection Certificate or a Fire License can be completed in fifteen days from the date of application received.Issuance of Fire License
On submission, the application will be forwarded to the concerned fire officer. The concerned fire officer assigns the application to a committee of Officers. The committee inspects the premises/building and submits the report online. The Committee then forwards the report to the concerned fire officer who approves or rejects the application, and the applicant will get an email with the final approved certificate. Alternatively, the applicant can also download the same from the online portal.Validity of Fire License
The Fire License or No Objection Certificate is valid for one year from the date of issue. Therefore, it has to be renewed every year.Renewal of Fire License
A fire no objection certificate can be renewed online, for the buildings situated in any area (Rural or Urban). Follow the steps to renew online which is explained below: Step 1: Click on "Apply for NOC" which is under the "NOC" tab. Step 2: Select "Annual clearance certificate" from the list of options.
